¡¡¡¡New cb whips and side marker lights.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0059.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0068.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0067.jpg

¡¡¡¡Stained and weatherd deck.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0058.jpg

¡¡¡¡That bring this one pretty much current I will post the dolly build for this truck and my other projects tonight.. http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/nice.gif

¡¡¡¡I moved onto a new project to take a little break from the lighting on my Globe so here is some info on doing a day cab Pete out of a KH body http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/nice.gif

¡¡¡¡Step 1 find project body

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0100.jpg

¡¡¡¡Hack saw to cut sleeper off works great..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0101.jpg

¡¡¡¡Using fine balsa wood blade saw along the hood

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0103.jpg

¡¡¡¡Next saw light bucket in half

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0105.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then taking your time cut across fender

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0104.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then just clean up with flat file and hobby knife

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0106.jpg

¡¡¡¡Next fill in the hole you made I take the styrene sheet set it in the 90 deg corner and mark the top and bottom were it meets the body the trace the curve of the fender using the fender this gives you the perfect matching curve then cut out with a hobby knife.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0107.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then take a small piece of the styrene trace the hole in the fender on the piece when you cut it out make sure you cut on the outside of the line as when you bend the piece to match the curve of the fender it will shorten back up then you just need to sand and file to fit the hole the best you can the better the fit the better the finish when you do your filler work..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0108.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0109.jpg

¡¡¡¡If you notice I also cut the front lip of the fender off and I will also fill in the lip on the side of the fender I will show these steps as I go..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0111.jpg

¡¡¡¡Filling in the back of the cab is the same as the fenders trace cut and sand.. ;D

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0112.jpg

¡¡¡¡I will show how the cut the rear window in and do the filler

¡¡¡¡Well onto the filler work to smooth it all out. I use tamiya filler it takes more than normal filler but it is smoother and no pin holes it is really more along the lines of a spot pudy.

¡¡¡¡I use small squars of .30 clear Polyester sheet to make filler paddles to apply it with and then sharpen on end on a piece of 220 sand paper..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0113.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then just take your time to apply it as smooth and evenly as you can the smoother you up it on the better each coat will come out..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0114.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0115.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then after it drys you need to sand I sit at the sink on a bar stool and wet sand till it is smooth and stright without taking out more then you have too then another coat of filler..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0118.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0116.jpg

¡¡¡¡you can see in the last pick how I laied out my window using the little sun roof type peice I trace my lift and right side corners then 2 stright lines.

¡¡¡¡Then I use a drill bit the same size as the corner drilling it out close to the line but not hitting it. Then a bunch of 1/8 inch holes accrosed the lines to each bigger hole then just cut out with a knife. Using a flat file and a small drum sander on the dremal you clean it all up..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0117.jpg

¡¡¡¡I got the body in primer the white color is just sandable primer I did 3 coats let it dry over night the sanded it out with 800 grit wet then I used high build primer on the fenders as there was a few spots that normal primer would not fill I did 3 coats and then sanded till I hit the white primer.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0141.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then I hit the body with my main color the off white and let it dry really good then used fine line "green tape" around the fenders and roof then backer tape "the yellow" this is made to go over fine line to seal it all shut good so no leaks making sure to push it down good using a tooth pick and then using painters tape "the blue" to mask the rest of the body off..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0143.jpg

¡¡¡¡Then when you put your first coat on you do it really light and give it a good 15mins to dry befor the 2nd and 3rd coat this will make sure you have no bleeding threw the tape..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0144.jpg

¡¡¡¡When doing metal flake you need to do light even coats to get it to lay down right so it looks even color wise.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0145.jpg

¡¡¡¡Now there few minor spots that are very hard to see that i should of spent more time on but it is a runner body so for it to be perfect is not a big deal but it looks very good you have to look very hard to see any spots..Now I will let the body dry in the window for a day then wet sand it with 800 grit wet very light then 3 coats of clear and it will be done..

¡¡¡¡Well here are some picks of the finished body I wet sanded the color then 4 coats of clear the sanded again the 2 finish coats and done.. I have body parts on the way from Gareth and still waiting for the chassis to show..enjoy http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0200.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0199.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0201.jpg

¡¡¡¡Thanks thorsteenster

¡¡¡¡I was just messing around with my new trail truck I am building just happened to set my day cab body on the chassis looks a little off I think http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/blink.gif

ÔÙÀ´

Now I know a few of you guys have seen the one that Chris "OZ" has made but when I seen his I had to build one and I am not a big car fan by any means. After getting ripped off $45.00 for tamiyaracer on TC club I finally found a TL01 on ebay that was not to nice to cut and modd all up.

¡¡¡¡So this is what I built out of my day cab KH lot of you guys were asking what I was going to do with it so here it is.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0268.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0270.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0269.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0271.jpg

¡¡¡¡Not really ment to haul anything but http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/censor.gif

¡¡¡¡I have a 19turn and a novak racer ex and 4400 pack for it should move along just fine ;D I have a lot left to do so I will keep you all posted..

¡¡¡¡No your opinion is just fine.. Here are a few more picks I worked late on it last night I got the new stacks made painted the trim around the windows flat balck made the rear window the look I am shooting for is old racing semis that I saw and have a few picks of from when I was like 8 or 10 so old school...http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/nice.gif

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0272.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0273.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_0274.jpg

¡¡¡¡Well I am getting things together to build the Blue Heavy Hauler Pete and with not much room in the body I needed to make the gear box more compact as so to fit the Diecat Cat motor and the 3 speed tranny.

¡¡¡¡I took a 2:1 gear reduction From RC4WD and mount it backwards on the tranny this way I have it as compact as I can and also get more gear reduction and also you can change up the gearing by changing up the gears in the reduction.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1760.jpg

¡¡¡¡Much Smaller than the Highlift

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1761.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1764.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1766.jpg

¡¡¡¡Very nice and low price gear reduction for only 39.95

¡¡¡¡Here is the update on the truck Mert was talking about.

¡¡¡¡Tamiya MFU Kit

¡¡¡¡Switch 8 unite "Trailer and Truck parking light and acc light control"

¡¡¡¡Smoke Unite

¡¡¡¡5000 mHa Battery Pack

¡¡¡¡55 turn lath motor

¡¡¡¡8 tooth pnion

¡¡¡¡VG6000 remote

¡¡¡¡Battery hook ups in left tool box

¡¡¡¡MFU switch unite right tool box

¡¡¡¡42 more LEDs on the trailer and dolly and truck with lenses

¡¡¡¡And a few other little things I have in the back of my head.. http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

¡¡¡¡Here is the lower level of the inside of the cab..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1253.jpg

¡¡¡¡Here is the penthouse floor..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1255.jpg

¡¡¡¡Here is the MFU's new home

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1257.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1256.jpg

¡¡¡¡Here is the MFU panel in the side box.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1254.jpg

¡¡¡¡So much more to do plus my new Tamiya CR-01 rock crawler came in and it is rock season so i am sure that will slow me down some but I am working on it a little every night..

¡¡¡¡__________________

¡¡¡¡I moved the MFU over to the driver side all the way and mounted the Switch 8 on it's side to save room then on the back of the mount I put a small servo and the switch for the 5th wheel coupler so that way I could have the extra power you get when you have a trailer hooked up. I just set the mini servo up on the 5 channel just like on my knight hauler. Here are some picks and video of it..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1314.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1315.jpg

¡¡¡¡Vid of 5th wheel switch

¡¡¡¡Well here are some picks of how I wired the trailer and dolly. this is how I will be wiring all my trailers from now on it really works well and easy to do. I used micro Deans 4 pin servo plugs red for + and black for -. It is real easy to set it up this way so you can have R/L turn Break lights and parking lights. You can use the 6 and 8 pin plugs if you want more wires..And for wire I use the twisted servo wire and for the LEDs I use white as I used colored lenses.

¡¡¡¡Now I drilled my holes in the center of the rail and then cut 1 inch tubes out of alum and glued the lenses on to the tubs then painted black around the outside edge so it would block the light and look like the rubber gasket. then I set the LED only about a 1/4 of a inch in the tub so it would light the lenses so you would not have that bright pin spot in the lenses. Now I ran in parallel and I know it is the harder way to wire but you also use less juice. Now I used these 2 web sights to get all the info for what resistors to use..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1682.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1731.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1729.jpg

¡¡¡¡Now the truck is pretty much totaly finished I need to change the lights on the side of the truck flate bed to match the trailer and I have to get some lights in front of the axles and in the center of the bumper of the dolly and flatbed.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1718.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1720.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1719.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1721.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1725.jpg

¡¡¡¡Here is my new Rig I am working on right now. The new 2:1 modded 3 speed goes in this truck along with a c-15 cat motor.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1722.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1723.jpg

¡¡¡¡now I am not going to change much on this truck I will be putting a cat under the hood and putting low pros on the lift axle but other than that I am just going to redo the side of the hood so it is all one piece and that way it will also have the 1 inch ext in front of the steps so I can put lights in that spot to. I will also do super singles on the front I picked up some other parts from Ric and I ordered RC4WD punisher drive shaft for this truck and the hay hauler today you can get them in any lenght you just have to ask.

¡¡¡¡So the list looks like this

¡¡¡¡55 Turn 6 tooth pnion

¡¡¡¡GD600 gear reduction

¡¡¡¡MFU

¡¡¡¡PMD blank with lights

¡¡¡¡robbe low pro tires

¡¡¡¡cat die cast motor and rad under the hood

¡¡¡¡hidden servo for 5th wheel

¡¡¡¡custom rear light bar

¡¡¡¡Super singles

¡¡¡¡PMD blank with lights

¡¡¡¡RC4WD punisher drive shaft

¡¡¡¡And lots of LEDs.

¡¡¡¡and a few other odds and ends.

¡¡¡¡Here is my new truck built by a good friend of mine I picked it up off him this weekend as he was getting rid of it I just could not see it go so I bought it from him. the body was made by a fellow in St.Louis MO and that is all this guy does is make custom stuff out of polly sheet. The body is the best hand made body I have seen it is a perfect match to the kenny right down to the molding around the windows.

¡¡¡¡Well Boyz the wife went out of town for 4 days and I got a lot of work done on my trucks and also did a rebuild on another one for my 9 year old son I was not planing on..

¡¡¡¡This here is my son Hong Kong Hauler you all have seen these yes they are junk but do have some good body parts on them,More on that later.I took his truck and gutted it and put in a traxxas remote, receiver, and esc out of one of my parted out traxxas trucks and and dropped them in with a traxxas servo and a 7.2 witch was all pretty easy. Then we just took the truck and trailer and went all army on it and came up with a truck my son really likes and drives pretty nice.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1825.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1824.jpg

¡¡¡¡Ok so then I also got the paint work all finished up on my KW900 and got some of it back together and am now just waiting for the MFU to show for it. I put bird screen on the stock air cleaners and also put PMD tank straps on the tanks, built some new stacks and then took the chrome KH dash out of my some Hong Kong Hauler and also the clear glass out of his truck and put it in the KW with a GI Joe ghuy at the wheel and then made some mirrors out of King Hauler to fit the KW. So here is what I ended up with today..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1826.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1829.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1831.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1832.jpg

¡¡¡¡New Dash and mirrors and driver with the windows rolled down.

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1827.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1830.jpg

¡¡¡¡I still have to paint all the window trim and put in the smoked lexan windows in the sleeper plus wire the MFU and extra lights control

¡¡¡¡I also got the frame work painted on the green pete and I am putting it back together right now and the MFU came in for it as did the punisher shafts. Stay Tuned.

¡¡¡¡Well after and good wait my white bone trailer showed. I asked Rocky to build this trailer to match a friends trailer for hauling my crawlers around.

¡¡¡¡The trailer is 36 inches from tip to tail dove tail with flip ramps. Also rocky added rub rail landing gear and adjustable hitch. The rims and tires I sent to him and he did the rest and did a great job..

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1850.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1851.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1937.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1938.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1942.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1945.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1946.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1941.jpg

¡¡¡¡http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g276/theonlytamiyacowboy/IMG_1947.jpg

¡¡¡¡The color matches the trailer pretty good in certain lights but it is imposable to print a mono chrome color but we were not trying to match it to a T anyways...
