http://www.rceasy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/1733_havoc_3s_1100px.jpgNovak’s powerful Havoc 3S Brushless/Brush ESC (#1733) is based on the Havoc Sport ESC, which is available with the Havoc Sport Sensored Brushless System (#3038) and Havoc Spec Brushless Systems (#3033 - #3036). The Havoc 3S has the ability to run on either two or three-cell Li-Po batteries, which the speed control automatically detects through Novak’s auto-detect software. This feature allows users to run a wider range of batteries and – for the speed-hungry racers – bestows the Havoc 3S with even more speed than the original 2S Li-Po Havoc Sport ESC. The Havoc 3S’s small footprint and low cost make it a perfect complement for1/10-scale off-road and on-road vehicles, such as theTraxxas’® Slash Pro 2WD Short Course Truck™, HPI’s® E-Firestorm 2WD 1/10th Stadium Truck™, Kyosho’s® LAZER ZX-5 SP™. Additionally, the Havoc 3S contains one of the strongest BECs for sport applications and includes nine adjustable parameters to fine-tune brake and throttle response.
CUTTING EDGE CUSTOMIZATION
For those interested in fine tuning, the Havoc 3S Brushless/Brush ESC offers a simple interface, making the system completely programmable with vast customization opportunities. One parameter, in particular, is Novak’s Throttle Curve that gives drivers the ability to experiment with two throttle responses – Linear and Expo – which range between a direct-throttle response to a smoother, more controlled low-end power delivery. In addition, the Havoc’s Brake Frequency adjustment contains seven degrees of adjustability from a smooth and controllable brake to a more abrupt and grabbier feel. Moreover, Novak has also built into the ESC a Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry feature, which prevents the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level. For further racing opportunities, Novak installed a Reverse Disable feature to turn the Havoc 3S into a forward-only brushless system for club-level racing.
