Drifting, the concept of driving a car on the edge of control, sliding it through a series of turns, is taking the motorsports world by storm. R/C Drifting is, as expected, growing at a rate equal to that of its full size counterpart. Always on the cutting edge, Team Orion is introducing the Drift Machine concept - a carefully selected line of electric motors, batteries and option parts designed specifically to take advantage of limited grip plastic and rubber tire equipped drift cars. Machine wound, each Drift Machine (DM) motor is based on Team Orion’s world renowned, championship winning, V2 modified racing motors and use the same aluminum endbell, can, magnets, and armature blank. Two track tested winds are currently available - an 11-turn for rubber tire equipped cars and an 18-turn for plastic tire equipped cars. Adjustable timing is standard (US Spec) but fixed timing versions are available for those wishing to drift Japanese style (J-Spec). Fully upgradeable, 11-turn and 18-turn hand wound armatures are available. All standard V2 brushes and springs can be utilized for optimal tuning. Additionally, two Drift Machine battery packs - one with 3300 mAh capacity and one featuring Team Orion’s exclusive 3800 mAh ZXR cells - are available to drifters seeking maximum performance at an economical price. For ease of use, both packs come assembled in stick form with a Tamiya style connector.
