Clutch shoes in a centax style clutch are probably the most important part of the clutch system. This shoe is the friction surface that connects the clutch bell to the rest of the clutch system to provide the drive for your UFO2 equipped vehicle. This friction surface is called upon to make this connection up to 20 or 30 times per lap depending on how many corners there are on the track. Multiply that by 15 to 20 laps per 5 minute race and then multiply that by 3 or 4 heats and anything up to a 1 hour final. If we calculate the total, this could mean over 10,000 times this clutch shoe is called upon to do it's job in one race meeting.

What is the purpose of all this math? It is to demonstrate how important the clutch shoe is in the operation of the UFO2 clutch system and also how important it is to select the right clutch shoe for the job. Some tracks require some clutch slip to avoid bogging while other tracks need a firm setup with no slip.
