The New Losi JRXS [upload=jpg]picture/onroad/20041066361617168.jpg[/upload] Some of the features spotted on the JRXS include a centrally positioned battery, very similar to what HPI used on their Pro3, but what no one else has these days in a Touring Car is a mid mounted motor. Also similar to the Pro3 are the offset differentials, and that's about the similarities with the Pro3, some opinions about these have already been posted, none however which make the interest for the new car less though. Also very different from other designs is the use of the ultra short A arms, again pro's and cons about this, but having in mind that this car is aimed for the competitive market and from the house of Losi this design is for sure not something made by accident. The shocks which will be included are rumoured to be very identical to Tamiya's well working and successfull shocks. These have during this season been used with success of course from Tamiya's own drivers, but also by many AE drivers, Kaerup won the 2004 TC Euro's with these. Looking at the first few races the new car has competed in it looks to have been doing quite well so far. Kinwald has been doing well locally with one, whereas Spashett seemed to have had some problems with it first time out at the race at Donington Park in the UK, next up is at West London. When looking at it ones first thought is "different", it could be either one, really fast or really slow. For sure though is that it's very different, I see it as one of the true ways of innovation, making things different and in a eadical way... the Losi way :) An official release date has not yet been published, but unofficial sources refer to a release at the Chicago Show. How it'll perform on a track in tough racing conditions will be revealed at the Worlds in a few weeks time. |
