TC4 FT Prototype Chassis And Top Plate



Recently spotted on Pelle Martin's TC4 at the GP Carpet World Cup 2005 is this new chassis and top plate for Associated's TC4 Team Factory. The new chassis and top plate are both 2mm whereas the standard Team Factory kit parts are 2.5mm. The new parts are as far as we know still prototypes and are still in a test phase which means that it's not known whether they will be released as optional parts. It's for sure though that the new parts are very very flexible and will provide increased grip in certain conditions.




When comparing this new top plate with the original in the Factory Team kit the difference is obvious, the new one is slimmer and has less mounting positions, these are removed in order to get a softer type of setup. The chassis layout is identical to the standard kit chassis. Besides the visual difference of the new top deck it's also 2mm. Although the chassis and top deck are only .5mm thinner than the standard kit the new parts are remarkably softer.



The new top plate and chassis is to be used with rubber tires on aspahlt and of course carpet where an additional soft setup is required. The standard type 2.5mm chassis is still used, especially when racing on foams.
