LaTrax – How To Replace a Motor

Today we will show you how to replace a motor on your LaTrax vehicle.
Get a replacement motor for your vehicle and follow these steps.
You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver and a 1.5 millimeter hex tool.
And tools are recommended the power tools are fine when use with a low torque setting.
Remove the body from the vehicle.
Remove the four screws behind the speed control.
Note that the screws are different sizes and remember where they go.
Gently lift up on the upper chassis but do not pull directly on the electronic speed controls or wires.
This will allow you to slide off the gear cover.
Now remove the motor.
Use the 1.5 millimeter hex tool to remove the pinion gear.
Now remove the motor plate.
Remove the old motor and discard.
Take your new motor and attach the motor plate and pinion gear.
Note the orientation of the motor plate and the gear mesh spacer.
This spacer creates a perfect gear mesh when properly installed.
See that the gears is flushed at the end of the motor shaft.
The set screws should hit the flat spot on the motor shaft.
Connect the red wire on the motor to the red wire on the speed control.
Now connect the black wire.
Lift up gently on the upper chassis again to install the new motor.
The motor plate will slide into the grooves in the chassis.
Now replace the motor cover.
Reinstall the hardware you removed earlier.
Now your LaTrax vehicle is ready to go ！
