The Savage Class started an hour behind the schedule. After the two qualifying rounds SARAYUTH took TQ, followed by CHAMP by 0.6 seconds, suggesting fierce battle in the finals. In the qualifying of the Stadium Class, all the racers participated with Lightning Stadium (The Hellfire was not yet released). MIURA participated in the Class with a stock truck, saying "It's a wonderful chance to enjoy racing". Race events in Thailand have special charm to attract drivers. SURASAK was the only one made 14 laps in the Class and took TQ. MIURA started from the third grid. Fifty drivers including some females and small boys competed in the Buggy Class. Cheered by friends and families, those boys shows as great driving skills as adult drivers. ATSUSHI HARA took TQ through fierce battles, making no waste in driving and showing dynamic jumps to respond to cheers from spectators and MC. Thai food was served for lunch at the track and drivers took a break and enjoyed the nice meal outside. During the lunch time, sprinkler was turned on for track maintenance. Once the finals began, the Savage started roaring so loud. SARAYUTH, who took TQ in the morning, dominated the 15-minute race by driving through 23 laps with no mistake. SANTI finished second and OUN came in third place. In the 20-minute Stadium Class A Main, MIURA (third in the qualifying) grabbed attention. However, SURASAK (TQ) successfully left the jam at the start and became the only driver who made 27 laps to win the championship, followed by CHAMP and MIURA who beat VITTAYA only by 4 seconds. With the Hellfire to be released in 2006, we expect the Stadium Class to be even more exciting. In the Buggy Class, winners are: SARAYUTH in the E Main, CHAY in the D Main, PONG in the C Main, and JAK in the B Main. Now the 30-minute A Main started and the focus of attention was ATSUSHI HARA who showed overwhelming performance with his Lightning 2. ATSUSHI HARA was the first one who passed the first corner and made a goal without letting anyone pass him. His best lap time was faster than any other racers by more than 2 seconds and his Buggy driving style was just perfect. YOFA finished second after starting from the fourth grid, while DINN who started from the eighth grid came in third with steady performance. SURIKARN started from the second grid and followed ATSUSHI HARA until middle stage of the heat, however, he retired in the 32nd lap due to some problem with the drive system. |
